Tech Brochure Comments: I found it on your other page. Please make you page the main page or move you info to this page. On the brochure, Can you save or make the brochure in a easy to read web based application. I saw it in class so know it looks like a great start. Many people, including me at home, do not have Publisher. There are many cool web based info-graphics applications or you have to save as other format. It will have to go on our web site for example. You may also want to create a specific plan regarding website and twitter accounts or make sure on main conference plan. Check and comment.

Balaj, it looks like you edited this page, but did not reply. You may want to have sub pages as getting a bit busy. Think how you want to organize. May not be a priority this week. May start by adding key message on the top and even link to tech managers pages to encourage everyone to look at each others work and comment and make suggestions. What is the status? Please also Reply to my comments so I know you read it and tell me what you have done. Also comment on others.

Thank you for the suggestions, I will update everything that you have outlined.

Hi, The next step is to get your Tech Managers to help Marketing Managers finish off the presentations. The TM can even provide some clides with Screen shots. They also have to figure out what functionality to showcase, if not already clear. Make sure you comment on all Tech manager and C-Suite pages. Suggestions to help team meet our goals. Content , Content, content.

Where is the updated brochure and status you handed in last week? You also need to clean up and add priorities to this home page?

Do we want a tech brochure or just merge with conference brochure? Comment?

Balaj, Can you create accounts for exec team and myself to add content to the Conference Webpage. You may have to do some training. I was also thinking you could publish the site once we have our final name today and give the whole class a password to read only. You can show the class the website on Monday as part of your presentation with execs on Monday for Conference Info. Talk to the rest of execs to make sure you have a draft duty roster of who will say what. For Monday you guys might just be 10 min. If you are free Monday Morning, perhaps we can get the exec team in at 8 to see me in room 312 to prepare.

I'm working on the website right now, I've provided all the executives with access to the website and Twitter page. It was decided that it would be a lot simpler if I were to complete the website myself. Regarding the brochures, there's a lot of information on both and therefore I don't think it would be possible to fit them on one, so we should have two. I will update the new tech brochure once it's completed, all that's left to do on it is input a logo and slogan, which is being worked on by Dalya. On Friday we briefly talked about the speech notes regarding the presentation on Monday but were unable to finalize anything because Sydney was away and there was a lot of other things that needed to be prioritized, though I think Eryn and Prishanti came up with a plan/draft.

Balaj let me know if you need help getting actual shots of PCSS students for advisements on the website and logo logistics. I love the website and think it looks really good! As tech manager would you be able to help our group figure out how to guarantee google docs will work at school? Thanks!

Test it in the lab and then the next time you practice your presentation in class.

I don't really understand your question, sorry. But yeah, it would be great if you could get some photos of the class and maybe even the auditorium.

Balaj, can you get a laser pointer?

Balaj said

at 9:45 pm on May 6, 2014

There should be a clicker in Mr.Gill's room, the clicker is basically a remote which allows you to control your presentation tool, and the remote also has an integrated laser pointer inside it. I'll ask Mr.Gill if he has it, I know Mr.Johnson used it all the time in that room.

I have one, but perhaps we can add that to the list for walt and stage crew. Two wireless mics, projectors, computers, and screens. Remember to check my class calandar as I booked two more dates for the Auditorium. Next Wed and the 22nd?

Balaj said

The work you had to do is on your wiki page already so I don't see why Mr.Gill would have a problem with that. I just haven't had time to send my self the file in which I copied down the information in the image.

Shaquan. I deleted your comment as inappropriate language. What work did you think I thought your were not doing? Everyone in the class should have a number of things they are doing for their divisional team and functional teams. There should be things to do lists on either main page, exec pages, or PM pages. Remember to also do the status report.

Balaj and Tech Managers. I noticed that the technology page on the website could use some work. Can each Tech Manager review and provide Balaj an updated summary. No info on google + and perhaps too much on others? Should we also have a link to the application? should we include tips that each person completed? Perhaps Top 3?

chris gill said

Balaj. Nice job adding some new material on the website. For the schedule can you add Conference introduction in P 1 and conclusion and Q & A in P4. Could probably add Prashanti's feedback info at some point but not required this week. Perhaps instead of Executive page, it should be BOH4M or Leadership Class and include a picture of the class and a summary of the organizational structure. Ask the team and anyone in class can comment please. We seem to have two Logo's now. One on Eryn’s page and Dalya's which I gather you might have?

I notice we actually do not have workshop titles? They are just the Workshop Team names? Perhaps the team names and information goes under conference team page (instead of Exec title)? Comment and discuss.

Balaj said

at 8:57 pm on May 12, 2014

What's the difference between the titles and team names, I don't think it really matters. All that really needs to be done now is the executive/class team page (which will be done when pictures are attained) and some more GFX work which just requires uploading on my part (i.e. the logo, slogan, maybe a banner, and posters) the brochures have been done for a while but I haven't posted them because we haven't decided on a logo and slogan yet.

I also took the liberty to update/edit and refine all the workshop summaries as well as the technology summaries, the only workshop logo that I don't have or at least could not find is The Planning Leaders, i'll let them know. The introductions and conclusion + Q/A has been added.

chris gill said

Looks good. Title provides more of an idea what the workshop is about verses the names which might just be people initials. Probably too late. Can you hide exec page until updated and also add our Conference Website address to our Twitter account. May also want to add a page with promotional videos?

chris gill said

The Media Page Looks great with the new ad and Powtoons team promotional video. I assume you, Balaj, made the ad as I did not see it on any other pages. Nice job? It looks perfect. My only comment is related to the Workshop names versus workshop team names. Some of them do not tell you what their topic is and some would be better as Conference names than workshop as more related to overall conference theme versus their actual topic. However, unless teams had new workshop names you cannot change it and it gives the general idea. More of a mystery or curiosity, which is fine. I like the summary description although it might include leadership and technology. People could add a comment here is they have a better one line summary. Not sure if we ever got a great logo. I would tweet this out on the main Twitter account with a link to the webpage and #pcstlt, which could also be included in the poster, but it is great as it is.

Can we add the conference logo to our twitter page and don't forget Tweetdeck. Perhaps the Tech Managers have a schedule to manage the Twitter Computer with TweetDeck and perhaps other information as the conference goes on throughout the day. Each tech manager should be an expert on their teams software, arrive early to make sure everything works, and be following the conference @ and tweeting. Everyone should also try Tweetdeck. It is owned by Twitter so it is the same password. Just sign up and try it. There is other software as well, which may be better?

Balaj said

at 2:19 pm on May 19, 2014

I don't understand what you mean about the conference names and workshop names, and last I checked TweetDeck and Twitter both function by themselves, I don't see why anyone need's to be managing them.

chris gill said

at 4:01 pm on May 19, 2014

Hi, Tweetdeck is owned by Twitter so same password is all I meant, but you do have to have an account. I guess what I am suggesting is that the Tech CIO and Managers should all have a Tweetdeck account set up to have columns on our @ and # and mentions? Your team would make sure set up in advance, working, and perhaps highlight any interesting tweets? Just trying to get people to have jobs and be part of the conference if not presenting.

chris gill said

On the names. We may have to talk as my written communications is not clear. We have team names for our workshops that represent the team and not the theme of the workshop. I think it is too late to change now and not a priority compared to making sure the executive team has a presentation and plan to fill up 30 min for an intro and 30 min for conclusion.

chris gill said

Balaj, in case you see this, Prahanthi added a good draft of some concluding slides many of which will help in your presentations about 21st century knowledge worker and technology change. Hope you have a chance to review and practice.
