LAR²  - Marketing plan

- We can advertise that we will be work shopping and teaching you how to use and apply multiple software’s for future reference.

  • Facebook Page

Instead of making just a conference facebook account I think it’ll be more effective to just make a page on facebook and invite each student’s facebook friends to like the page. By making a facebook page we will be able to make multiple posts on the page updating the interested people on the details of the conference. Also in the description of the facebook page we can include what exactly the conference entails, who is involved, what we will be work shopping, and more.

  • Posters

Posters may be considered old fashion but they’re still effective when it comes to advertising. By making bright, elaborate posters for each workshop with information pertaining to both the workshop and the conference we will hopefully be able to catch students eyes around the school. For example with my workshop group we are doing google docs so we can make a poster using the google colours being blue, red, yellow and green. We can also include a picture of the software and a few pieces of information on the conference and workshop. Also on the poster it would be most effective to include the twitter account, facebook page info and more.

  • Website

We already know we’re creating a website for the conference, but on this website having tabs or links to pages solely dedicated to each workshop will give viewers the opportunity to see what each workshop will be about so they have an idea of what we will be talking about. Also on this website we can have the twitter account information and the facebook page information included and vise versa (tweet the website url and make a facebook post with the url)

  • Twitter

The most common portal of advertising amongst teenagers and students is twitter. By making a twitter account for the conference itself, we will be able to get word out about our conference and what it is all about. After there is enough information about the conference out there, each workshop will be able to submit their own input pertaining to their group’s workshop. Also perhaps if students in the class tweet from their personal account tagging the conference twitter in it as well as hash tagging the conference hash tag, we will be able to get the attention of more students that may be interested.

  • Announcements

Obviously people don’t listen to announcements too often but still a very important part of advertising for our conference within school. By putting an announcement in everyday we will be able to hopefully get out the word of our conference across to some students. But on top of the morning announcements we can also make virtual announcements on the screens in the caf and in the hallways. By making them bright, eye catching and containing a short blurb about the conference including the name of the conference maybe the twitter account and hash tag or something along those lines.
